SEAT BELT TESTING

Seat Belt Testing

GWR® has been testing seat belts and restraints since our origin. Below we describe the testing we do internally. In addition to testing every GWR product internally, we also test new products extensively with Autoliv laboratories, and seat belt and harness models are tested by the prominent third party testing laboratories to assure their compliance with all regulations. The performance of our complete seat belts are tested according to ECE R16, FMVSS 209, FMVSS 302, SAE J386, SAE J2292, ECE R44 and ADR 4. Our FIA harnesses are tested by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA 8853/98 and FIA 8854/98 ).

Our in-house Testing Capabilities Include:
6 Station Retractor Durability Cycler

6 Station Buckle Durability Cycler

Our seat belt systems have been dynamically tested in car-like setups since 1990. Our extensive experience with dynamic sled testing gives us in-depth knowledge of the best anchor points and overall system designs to provide safety in all vehicles. Sled tests are controlled using a fully computerized crash control system. Sensors, instrumentation, cameras, towing, acceleration, velocity, test input data can be set and monitored.
